can anyone help me??
I posted on pregnancty but figure maybe someone here could help too....
long story short....
My ob just called to tell me that the sono we re-did last week (since our nugget wasn't cooperating the week before) looks good - the heart, kidneys and spine are all perfect - BUT apparently there "looks like there are some cyst(s) on the brains, which shoudl be ok and will prob be benign since my afp and ultrascreen came back negative" but now she wants me to go see a specialist at St Charles to confirm it...has anyone heard of this or gone through it?
my post on pregnancy
thanks in advance to anyone who can offer insight, etc.....

- No experience with this but I have read posts where the cysts turn out to be nothing.

Re: can anyone help me??
We had that - it's called a Choroid plexus cyst. The doctors scared the crap out of me, but when all was said and done, the cyst disappeared on its own. I did a lot of research and apparently they are VERY common - my ob/gyn theorizes that it's a normal part of every pregnancy but until recently the technology couldn't pick up on it. It's so new that it perplexes doctors, but in reality, it's probably something that is totally normal. I think only 1% of cases where the ultrasound detects a cyst does it turn out to be a defect. As long as everything else looks good, you should be FINE!
