Key West
My husband, my son and I are going on a cruise in october. We're thinking of just doing a 4 night cruise and then staying in key west for 3 nights.
Can anyone recommend a hotel with a toddler in tow? where to stay? what's good?

Re: Key West
Check out the center court cottages - they are awesome and have a little kitchen in them which is perfect for a family!
They are located all over the city, we stayed in Old Town Key West becuase we knew it would be quieter and it was perfect.
Things to do - you can just walk up and down Duval street and go to any of the restaurants. THere is is also a little lighthouse and a small but really interactive aquarium. The beaches are small but nice, the locals dont go in the water b/c of some kind of sewage problem but I have LOL Oh and if you use center court you get access to a pool just a few blocks away!
http://www.centercourtkw.com/ - we stayed in the Flagler Suite
At night, it gets rowdy - but its a great and fun crowd. . .

Re: Key West
When are you going to be there? They have this annual festival called Fantasy Fest - it runs from 10/23-10/31. I went one year and there is no way I'd bring a child - think Mardi Gras but on a smaller scale.
I loved the Casa Marina Resort both times I visited Key West. Once was in the summer and it seemed great for kids. There were tons of families! It has a huge pool area and a private beach. It's pretty close to town.

I haven't stayed at the Southernmost on the Beach, but I have stayed at the Southernmost Hotel. The price is very reasonable for the location. It is right on Duval Street, but at the end so it is a little bit quieter which would be nice since you're traveling with kids. I'd definitely recommend their properties.

Re: Key West
We stayed at the Ocean Key Resort and Spa, which is located right by Mallory Square where you catch beautiful sunset. I remember there were kids in the lobby so I'm sure they are children friendly. If you are more of a sunrise person, I would suggest Casa Marina, which is absolutely beautiful! It's located right by whitman pier. I'm not sure if that hotel is children friendly since when we stayed there, I didn't really see children (but that doesn't mean they are not). Check both of them out!

I loved it too - and we went with a 10 month old. There's a separate kids pool and pool boys that come by with ice pops and other treats.
It's a 10 minute walk to Mallory Square, but I honestly appreciated the nightly walk to burn off dinner.

I also stayed at the Casa Marina, its GORGEOUS!
The Hyatt is supposed to be nice too.

Re: Key West
There's a great hotel, the Best Western, right near the airport...great pool, beautiful grounds, usually reasonable. When we stayed there, there were lots of families with kids and it's not near "downtown" so a bit quieter than some of the places in town.
See here
If you want to be closer to town, def. Southern Most on the beach (stayed there for our wedding) or The Reach resort (had our wedding there). Both have pools and beach access. The Best Western is not on the beach and no beach access.
Enjoy!!
