I make ribs/chicken/pork/beef all the time in the crock pot.
I take whatever meat I am using that day, salt/pepper the meat and I usually just use store-brand BBQ sauce, some brown sugar and a little bit of onion/garlic. I let the meat cook all day till it's shredded or falling off the bone (ribs).
