I have a Polar. It's very simple to use. I used it for spin during both my pregnancies.
VERY user friendly.

would you want to invest in a Garmin? since you also run a lot, you might like to have both.
I have the 405, but I'm pretty sure the 305 also comes with a HR monitor

You know what Erica I was thinking of that and it probably would make more sense for me to get a Garmin. Someone I run with has one and it works great! Thanks everyone!

I have the Garmin 405cx...if you have the money go for it! IT IS AMAZING!! You can use it indoors too if you turn the GPS option off. Its a bit large and I feel weird wearing it at the gym sometimes but in spin you can just strap it to the bike.
I have also used polar and it is pretty good. I always had an issue with polar though and getting the initial heart rate...it would take forever! Anyone else have that problem? I def dont have that problem with the Garmin

I have always been happy with Polar. My last one lasted me 10 years.
