sq footage of a house
when looking at houses and it gives sq footage does that include basement. I am looking at a house and it says sq footage is 1600 and has a full unfinished basement.

Re: sq footage of a house
I believe the 1600 is only referring to the main floors of the home, not the unfinished basement, but I could be wrong.

Re: sq footage of a house
typically it doesn't include any unlivable space (attic and basements are not included)

Re: sq footage of a house
Unfinished basements, garages, unfinished attics, etc. don't count. Finished basements, converted garages, and finished attics do.
