I bought a beautiful accent table the other day and wanted to refinish it since it was painted a green color. After sanding I found that some of it was read wood, and some of it was compressed wood.

Someone had said to paint it, but has anyone used brown paint on something like this that came out nice?

I have also seen furniture in a distressed looking green color, any ideas on how to get this?
