Spinoff to that gorgeous bedding post

The one eddiesmommy posted.

How common is it to have more than one bedding set?

I would think VERY.

I have a few. Different seasons, different colors.

I don't think I know anyone with only one bedding set. What the heck do you do if one gets dirty and you don't have time to wash it before bed Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to that gorgeous bedding post

dh and i have a couple of cheap bedding sets. (clearance at bbb - less than $30) we did not get a set for our wedding because we were not sure of our future new beds size.

I only have one at a time... and always have. I'd say i buy a new one every 5 years or so, or when it starts to get old looking. Bedding can be very expensive so i can't justify buying all new sets every change of season.

guess i'm a weirdo Chat Icon

i usually don't sleep on top of my bed - i sleep under sheets. By bedding set, i assume the poster meant comforter sets. I do have multiple sheet sets.

If my comforter gets dirty, i bring it to the dry cleaner in the morning and pick it up that night. If it has to be overnight, i have a few older comforters that would suffice in the meantime.
I don't use those older comforters normally though - they're DH's old one and one of mine from before we were married. We use them when someone sleeps on our futon

I have three sets. Two of them were expensive and one was ridiculously expensive LOL

I have a summer and a winter set, I am actually going to paint my new bedroom the same color as my old one so that I can continue to use them.

I also have a hand sewn white lace set that I used for my wedding day, my anniversaries and I will one day use for my childrens' baptisms, communions, weddings days.

I will probably have all three sets for life, LOL

My mom had one pink set for over 40 years, LOL

I take VERY good care of them, take them off the bed before I go to sleep, and only wash them once a season before I put them away.

I have two comforters and two duvet covers. I like some change with the seasons. I look for sales on the duvet covers, so it's not so expensive for us. Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to that gorgeous bedding post

We have just one set-it goes with our room decor. If I got another one, I would have to get new curtains too and that seems like a lot to change seasons.

I guess multiple sets wouldn't be as necessary if I didn't have kids, but I do, and they like to touch my made bed when they come into the room, and often sit on it. I also have a baby that I plop down on my made bed while I get dressed or ready to go out in the morning.

Even my pillows aren't safe. My son had a stomach bug last year and came into my room at night just in time to get sick all over my decorative pillows. Those were dry clean only as well and my dry cleaner never gets my comforters back to me within 24 hours.

Chat Icon I have a bunch, but I have an issue.

to be honest though, its a cheap change IMO. you change that out and the entire room looks very different without changing much

Re: Spinoff to that gorgeous bedding post

I have about 5 duvets that I rotate. They are mostly all in the same neutral color palette, some with patterns, paisley, etc, so it will always match the room.

LMAO!!!

when we rented we had a few b/c we had a full size bed - so it was really cheap to keep changing sets....when we moved into our second apartment i can remember like 4 sets and we lived there for only 2 years Chat Icon

now that we have a king size we have 1 comforter from Crate and Barrel and it's staying for a long time Chat Icon i have to control myself now b/c bedding for a king is a lot more expensive than it was for a full hahahaha

Re: Spinoff to that gorgeous bedding post

I only have one bedding set. It goes on my bed when it is made and we take it off before we go to sleep. It is only used for show so I really only need one.

I have two - one classic and one more casual (for summer, typically).

We only have one comforter set, and switch to a lighter quilt in the spring.
