Shredding/Eating wee-wee pads
Our puppy has suddenly started to tear apart her wee wee pads. I know she is eating it as well and its sort of making me nervous. I heard about this frame/holder thing for the pads - they are supposed to deter the pup from ripping at the pad - but of course my Peanut still found a way to get to the pad with this contraption. I don't know what to do. Any advice.. Hopefully in a few weeks we will be able to take her outdoors and this will be all be solved. She hasn't had her rabies shot and I don't want to take her in the backyard because we just bought this house and the old owners had a dog that pooped a lot in the yard - I don't really want to take the chance. I can't watch Peanut all the time so it makes me nervous when I'm either not watching her or if we are out for a few hours that she will ingest wee wee pad... That can't be good. Any advice is welcome.. Thanks again... I just want to do right by our pup. :)

Re: Shredding/Eating wee-wee pads
Our Previous dog Buddy use to shred wee wee pads, but when i put newspaper down he left it alone and went to the bathroom on it. Maybe try newspaper?

Re: Shredding/Eating wee-wee pads
ollie did this and it was gross and she was relentless. We bought the frame too which only encouraged her to rip out of the frame before she shredded it to pieces. We tried newspaper and she shredded that too. This is going to sound gross but we bought the reusable wee pads. She's 2 and we still leave them out on days we'll be out for a while. They're very strong I don't even think she's tried to shred them.

Re: Shredding/Eating wee-wee pads
they shred these items because they are bored. i would make sure they're well exercised and have something to do, like a frozen kong or something, and housebreak asap!

Frozen Kong? You can put the Kong in the freezer, do you mean the toy or the treats?

put the radio on maybe that might help and try the kong. Have you tried taping it to the ground?

I agree. I fill our kong with peanut butter and freeze it. This keeps our little guy entertained for a while.

Re: Shredding/Eating wee-wee pads
kong has these recipes. i think the banana rama looks good. i wouldn't do mac n cheese, too fatty. you could also just freeze a mixture of dry and wet food. i've also frozen bits of apple in an ice cube in the summer.
