Confused about FSH

On day 3 my FSH was 6.2 and estradiol was 30.9. And my dr said I had premature aging so i did the clomid challenge test days 5-9 and on day 10 my FSH was 7.3 and estradiol was 109.1. My gyn said that I def had some premature ovarian aging and the clomid wont work for me and to see a RE. I'm just really confused because I thought when you have ovarian aging or failure your FSH is high? Mine was under 9 which is normal right? Does anyone know about these numbers? Maybe its the estradiol thats making me have the aging? Im just really confused

That doesn't sound right to me. Definitely get a second opinion.

According to this it seems like your estradiol may be high and that is what signifies the diminished ovarian reserve. (but these are day 3 levels, not day 10).

Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
On Day 3 it should be from 3-2 mIU/ml

FSH is often used as a gauge of ovarian reserve. In general, under 6 is excellent, 6-9 is good, 9-10 fair, 10-13 diminished reserve, 13+ very hard to stimulate.

Estradiol (E2) on Day 3 should be 25-75 pg/ml. Levels on the lower end tend to be better for stimulating. Abnormally high levels on day 3 may indicate existence of a functional cyst or diminished ovarian reserve.

i agree wtih the PP - your FSH level isa ctually very good
