Our beautiful pine tree

I went outside for the first time today and saw that the beautiful pine tree on the side of our house was blown over by the storm. It is completely uprooted, there is a hole in the ground where it used to be. I got so sad looking at it, this giant, beautiful thing.

This is only my 4th day as a homeowner (!!!) and I don't know what to do. How much should the tree removal be? It is 100% out of the ground already; we just need someone to chop it up and take it away (ahh! My heart is breaking as I type this!). We have a chainsaw but I don't think either DH or I is qualified to handle a job like this - the tree is about 25 feet long.

One good thing - it didn't take anything out with it, just fell cleanly acoss the yard.

I wouldn't think it'd be that much to have someone chop it up. I wouldn't pay anymore than $100. (DH says $150 but I'm cheap.) Most likely any company that does will sell the wood for campfires.

Thank you for your response! I'm so glad that it'll only be $100/$150. We just closed on our house a couple of weeks ago and since then all these things have come up and it's really adding up. Any suggestions on who to call? A tree removal company, I'm guessing?

I would just start calling people in the penny saver and get quotes.

What ever you do do not burn that wood inside your home fire place or if you know someone who would want it. You can't burn pine because of the sap.

We actually had the same thing happen to up, except I am glad to see mine go.Chat Icon
