has anyone had success with unmedicated IUI's?
We went to the Dr. Today. He was supposed to start me on FSH injections this cycle. But it turns out i have a cyst now on my left ovary and by giving me the injections, it can cause the cyst to just grow. So we aren't doing that his cycle. My LH is also slightly elevated. He gave me a script for Dexamethasone (sp?). he said we can either take a break this cycle and just take the dexamrthasone for the high LH, or, once he gets my blood work back tomorrow and see's my hormone levels, i can start the dexamethasone and go for monitoring to see if my eggs grow without meds and i ovulate on my own and we can do the IUI. Anyone have any experience with any of this? TIA!

My daughter had her first unmedicated IUI in Feb. and is pregnant!! She goes to Dr. Braverman. He's wonderful. Good luck. They had some male factor issues, but the IUI worked!

Re: has anyone had success with unmedicated IUI's?
i had a feeling you see dr. b because i have high LH and he also prescribed dexamethasone. it worked for a while, then i had to double the dose. then it kinda stopped working. now i'm weaning myself off of the dex and have switched to metformin. but thats also because i am taking a break from medicated cycles (as in injectables/femara) for a bit.
i dont have any experience with IUIs and dexamethasone alone didnt do much for me as far as ovulation - but i dont really ovulate on my own too much to begin with. if you do, the dex should help to lower your LH. it def worked for me for a while although it didn't do enough for me to O without other meds. my LH when i started with dr. b was at 21 and the dex got it down to around the 10 range for awhile. still not as low as normal, but a lot better. if yours is only slightly elevated it should def help.
good luck!!

I had high LH levels as well and was perscribed dexamethasone (sp). I also did Clomid with an IUI and am now 7 1/2 months pregnant. I didn't get monitored, or do shots or anything like that. Just the dex, 50 mg of clomid and the IUI..and that was it. Good luck!!!!!

To conceive Abby, I used unmedicated IUIs for 5 cycles. I got PG 3 times and lost 2. Abby was cycle #5. I was not prescribed anything else. FM me if you need any more information. HTH.

Re: has anyone had success with unmedicated IUI's?
Thanks for all the info ladies. Hopefully my eggs will grow without anything and we can do an IUI this cycle. I have been seeing the Dr. since januray and this is the first time that my LH was slightly elevated too so hopefully everything works out this cycle.
