Re: Cleaning...

I am a sahm, so it depends one the times I am home.

Usually it looks like this:

Sunday Night: Clean Kitchen from weekend cooking

Monday: Make house presentable for the week.
- Straighten up from the weekend. Put away shoes, clothes, misc everything that gets thrown around all weekend, sort through papers, etc..
- Wipe down Bathrooms.

Tuesday: Bulk of Clothes Laundry Day
- Laundry (colors & whites) - 4 loads

Wednesday: Light Cleaning
- Clean Dining Room & Den (dust & polish, baseboards, wash floors, vacuum, windex).

Thursdays: Heavy Cleaning (time consuming)
- Clean 3 Bedrooms & Living Room (dust & polish, baseboards, change sheets, wash floors, windex)
- Sanitize & Scrub Upstairs Bathroom
- Laundry: sheets, towels, any misc laundry items (sweaters, delicates, etc) - 2/3 loads

Friday: Heavy Cleaning
- Clean & Sanitize Kitchen (appliances, refridgerator, oven, counters, stove, baseboards, floor)
- Dust Entry Hall & wash floor
- Santize & Scrub Half Bath. Finish any laundry (usually 1 load of colors)
- Sort through paperwork from the week.

I clean up my kitchen & bathrooms as needed. My stove gets wiped down, floors swept and/or swiffered, etc every night. I use Lysol Wipes to wipe down the toilet, handles, sink every few days.
I do a big cleaning 1x per week unless company is expected then I will make sure it the done the night before company comes over (playdate, parents, friends, an appointment, etc.)

Re: Cleaning...

I pick up, do a quick 15 minutes of wiping down surfaces almost everynight and then one night a week I do a full cleaning

We try to straighten up every day. I clean the kitchen counters after I cook something.

We are so wiped during the week that we push cleaning off until the weekends. Laundry, bathroom, light vacuuming we try to do every week, with heavier cleaning once a month. Dishes in the sink is very few days. Clean dishes in the dishwaher get put away before bed.

I am trying to get into the routine of doing some quick straightening or returning items to their proper places during TV commercials!

right there with ya..... I'm exhausted throughout the week from work and school but I do clean kitchen after every meal cooked, except for floors. Bathroom and the rest gets done on an as needed basis.

DH does none of it unless I scream, so its a lost cause asking him to do anything when I'm not home.

Re: Cleaning...

i get home from work fairly early (around 4) and i don't have any kids yet... so i usually do one cleaning thing a day as soon as I get home from work. One day i'll dust, one day i'll do the bathrooms, one day i'll do the floors... its just whatever i'm in the "mood" to do that day. it just helps me keep up with it so i dont spend ALL day on the weekend cleaning everything.
i also kind of straighten up as i go.... put things back as soon as i'm done with them, wipe down the kitchen counter as i cook, etc, put junk mail right out into the recycling before it starts to pile up on the table.. stuff like that.

Re: Cleaning...

I pickup and straighten every night before bed, wiping down the counters, etc. I try to keep on top of the laundry during the week too.

On weekends I usually do everything else-sometimes I get a head start at night during the week.

DH is pretty useless for the big cleans, but he straightens up at night too, (kids toys, etc), he does garbage and vacuums if I have the patience not to just do it myself which is my usual attitude about everything.
