IUIs - Monitoring Needed for Medicated and Unmedicated Cycles??
I read someone's post yesterday and they mentioned that they often feel stressed about making appointments and missing work, and I definitely feel the same way. This got me thinking about our next steps in this IF process and I was wondering what the norm is for everyone regarding sonos for unmedicated and medicated IUI cycles.
I would love to hear what all of your experiences are with these types of appointments for:
- Unmedicated IUIs
- Medicated IUIs
ETA:
Also, not sure whether this matters re: monitoring, but if you have experience with medicated cycles - were you taking Clomid or Injectables??
Thanks!!!!!

Re: IUIs - Monitoring Needed for Medicated and Unmedicated Cycles??
I just went through a cycle of medicated IUI. I had RE appointments 2-4x per week. I scheduled them at 6:30am so I didn't miss any work. Do you have the option of making extremely early appointments?

I had unmedicated IUIs. My re does monitoring at 6:30 to 8am in the morning so i never missed work or was late.
Check your re's hours.

I'm not 100% sure of my docs monitoring hours for medicated sonos, but I know that I have not been able to get anything earlier than an 8am appointment for my unmedicated sonos, which unfortunately didn't get me out the door until 10:30!!
Were you taking Clomid or injectables? And does that even matter re: monitoring?? (maybe I should update my original post!)

Re: IUIs - Monitoring Needed for Medicated and Unmedicated Cycles??
I had a medicated IUI and I went in for monitoring and sonos about 2 - 3x a week. I had my IUIs on days 12 and 13, so I didn't have to be moitored for that long.
I went in for blookdwork at 7am before work (took about 10 minutes) and then back for the sono and appointment after work. I took off one day for the IUI b/c I had to be there at 10:30 am and there was no way for me to leave work and go back after it.

Re: IUIs - Monitoring Needed for Medicated and Unmedicated Cycles??
I had a medicated IUI last month. I had my IUI done early CD 13, so I only went in for blood/sono 2x. I didn't have to miss work for those days, because I went in early. (AF offers monitoring 745am-11am.) I go to Dr. B, and love him, but if he didn't offer monitoring in the city, I would have HAD to go to another doctor, because his office hours do not begin till 8, and even if you get there at 8, you probably won't get out till 10ish, and doing that 3 days a week and then commuting to the city was impossible for me.
I was late for work however, on the day of my IUI, I was scheduled for 8:15am, but I didn't end up seeing the doctor till 10am This was at AF.
I understand the anxiety and frustration with making doctor apts and work. Which is why when selecting a RE, I would really suggest going to a RE that has EARLY monitoring hours if possible. We have enough stress right now
