Re: anyone been to dublin?

I'm from Dublin. There was thread a while ago that a few people responded to that I will bump for you.

Let me know if you have any questions. I love to promote my home town.Chat Icon

Re: anyone been to dublin?

thanks so much! my biggest questions (haven't read the thread yet so sorry):

1. can we take a day trip to the countryside somehow without a car, and if so where do you reccomend?

2. Is st. patrick's day a big deal there like it is here? should we stay in dublin and crazy party or would that be a good day to see the countryside?

1. I'm not sure if you have read the post I bumped, but I listed detailed information on travel in and around Dublin and the outskirts. It's definitey doable without a car and the public transport system is very good.

2. The Dublin city parade is okay. I had an email from my friend in Dublin yesterday and she said they avoid that parade. Instead they travel to a smaller town parade (Greystones in Co. Wicklow) but they have kids so that could make a difference. If you are looking to party, there St. Patrick's day festival which runs from tomorrow through the 17th. Here is a link to the list of events.
