Re: A What Would You Do

Whenever DH and I travel, we generally try to get the first flight out, which usually means leaving the house around 4 or so. We also are night owls but we still need to get at least a few hours sleep or else we are too tired when we arrive to enjoy ourselves.

Re: A What Would You Do

Stay up all night, sleep on the plane. I cannot wake up that early no matter what - even if I went to sleep at 8PM the night before. Early departures like that I always stay awake and sleep on the plane.

Re: A What Would You Do

it depends on where i'm going and what i'm doing the next day.

the last time I did that I pulled an allnighter but I had no choice! we were planning to visit ILs for the holidays back when that big storm hit. we found out midnight friday that our 2pm sat flight was cancelled -- assumed it was due to the storm but it was some random thing. we got switched to sunday morning but called and got switched to a 6am sat connecting flight from newark (we were supposed to fly direct from LGA). we had to pack and then hop in a cab to newark at 3am so no time to sleep Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

we made it and beat the storm (most flights that day were canceled but we made it out) but i did nap at the gate and slept both legs of our flight... DH cant sleep on a plane so he slept most of the afternoon

so, in short, it really depends on your situation, whether you can sleep during flights and whether you can sleep after you arrive..

Re: A What Would You Do

If it was a very long flight (over 10 hours) I would stay up. In your case I'd fall asleep when I could. Even if it's for a 1-2 hour power nap.
