after over 9 months of looking and having offers fall through or going through bidding wars, my FH and I finally found a house we love and our offer was accepted today!... only problem is they can still show it until the contract is fully signed which i'm afraid about, especially if someone comes in with a better offer Chat Icon to those that have purchasd homes, how long in your experience did it take to get into contract after your offer was accepted? we have our engineer going in on monday but i'm still worried of all the shows in between and there is supposedly an open house next weekend!

Good luck! I'd have something negotiated with them that they would cover your inspection and other fees before the contract is signed. You should be signing the contract relatively quickly so hopefully no other offers come in! Chat Icon

Re: *fingers crossed*

ours took over a week from accepted offer until full contract, and I was in tears by the end thinking they were delaying because of other offers, which wasn't the case. I believe this was kind of long. Does the selling agent have to tell any people that there was already an accepted offer? (we were told that about accepted offers when we were looking) hopefully they do because it should deter buyers to go in knowing that they will be put in a bidding war situation. GOOD LUCK!!!
