Whole Foods?
I saw on their website that they have locations in Jericho and Manhasset. I visited a chain in VA when I was there I loved the quality of the food.
How many of you shop there on a regular basis? Do you do all of your food shopping there?
I really want to focus on changing my families eating habits. Any suggestions about your shopping experience there? TIA

Re: Whole Foods?
There are locations in Jericho (off rt 106/107 LIE/NS exit to the north) and Manhasset (on Northern Blvd, opposite the Miracle Mile)
I've been to both, and they are fine if you know what you want...they have a large variety of foods, produce, etc., but some of their prices are high...I have found things I like better at Trader Joe's that are organic/healthy for lower prices...it's worth checking out to see if it's how you remember it, you might like it and, as a side note, if you bring in bags to use, you get 10 cents back on each one...I am a supermarket junkie...haha..enjoy!

Re: Whole Foods?
I only shop there (Jericho) for the specialty stuff that my local stop and shop doesn't carry (Ezekial bread, Zevia soda, etc.). I find it highly expensive! I do like their meat and seafood counters - everything seems very fresh. But I do gravitate more towards Trader Joes.

OT, but I couldn't find Ezekial bread at Wegman's (where I shop) and one day I was in the natural/organic freezer section and there it was. For some reason all of organic breads, bagels are frozen. Maybe check there.

Re: Whole Foods?
The Jericho Whole Foods is far better than the Whole Foods in Manhasset. It has a better prepared foods section, is larger, more organized, etc.

Re: Whole Foods?
We shop there pretty much weekly (Manhasset)! We do a good portion of our food shopping there, plus hit another local store for some things they don't carry.

I wish Wegman's would open up in LI. They told me nothing was planned It would do so well here!

and to you for wanting to change your family's eating habits! In my local supermarket I see soooooooo many people loading their carts with J U N K in capital letters. It makes me want to Either people don't know what's in there, or they know and don't care!
If you can, watch the movie Food Inc to find out more about what's in the supermarket.
