For those who went from IUI to IVF
This is my third IUI cycle.
AF is suppose to show around 3/22.
My question is this:
If she does show and we go into IVF will the procedure be done on my next cycle or do I lose a few cycles since the procedure is different.
Im not sure what the process entails.

It depends..(don't you just love that?)
If you did injectible meds your doc may want you to de-tox for a cycle.
Some docs let you cycle right after. I've had experience with both.

Re: For those who went from IUI to IVF
Coming off a failed IUI with injectibles, my Dr had me wait a cycle to start Lupron (which is the start of your IVF cycle).
I hope you have good news on 3/22!!

I'd like to know this also. I have heard of some women changing mid cycle from IUI to IVF, i didnt know how that was possible. Isn't there classes, and meds to start specific for an IVF cycle ?

I could be completely wrong but I think they switch to an Egg Retrieval if there are a certain number (too many) mature follicles. Then depending on environment, perform the Embryo Transfer or freeze for a future FET.
My meds protocol for IVF was exactly the same as my injectible IUI (Lupron, Gonal, Ovidrel) only difference was the addition of PIO.
Hoping that all of your IUI's are successful!!!!

Re: For those who went from IUI to IVF
It really depends on your dr, but here's what we did:
After 3 failed IUI's, I decided to go to IVF. Met w/ the dr for an IVF consult. She gave me a list of tasks to do and told me to do 1 more IUI cycle in the meantime, while we were getting ready for IVF.
The dr's office had to get a pre-approval through my insurance. Once they got the pre-approval, they called me and I had to pay for the part that wasn't covered. As soon as I paid, they let me register for an IVF class. We took the 2-hour class. We also had to meet w/ a social worker to talk about our plans. Both DH and I had to get more blood work done. Once we did those things, the dr ordered my meds. I was on birth control for about 3 weeks and then stimmed for around 10 days.
My advice is to set up a time to meet with your dr just to find out what their process is. Obviously, u hope u never have to find out but it's good to have all of the info so u can start planning just in case.

Re: For those who went from IUI to IVF
I'm sort of headed in that direction right now.
I just had my 2nd failed medicated IUI (3rd overall - I had one natural cycle IUI) and will be doing my 3rd medicated this month.
My RE had me make an appt for an "IVF consult" during what will be my 2ww. She said it'll be a 45 min - 1 hr consult to talk about everything that is IVF. She said the actual process usually starts about a week after ovulation, which would mean that I'd miss one month of actual trying.
Obviously, I HOPE and PRAY this month of IUI works, but I'm very happy to know we have another plan if it doesn't. And missing only 1 month isn't so bad!

Re: For those who went from IUI to IVF
I lost one cycle because I had to start Lurpon prior to getting AF, and they didn't want to take the chance that I would be on Lupron while pregnant. To me, it's better to be safe than sorry and just wait the extra month.....

Re: For those who went from IUI to IVF
I "timed" my IVF for a week of vacation. I can't be taking off of work last minute when they call to tell me what day the transfer would be.
So... I took birth control for a while & the Lupron & then started.
I took a class & did a while lot of final bloodwork, did the water sono, ect. It maybe took 1 appt at my RE.
