Re: Newport, RI
We havnt been there yet either but we did just book it for May. We are staying at the Attwater Villa, one of my friends went and recommended it to us. It is right in the middle of Newport and is soooo much cheaper than any of the other hotels and it includes breakfast. You can look at the reviews on trip advisor.

Re: Newport, RI
We just stayed at the Marriott using my points, and it was very nice. I would stay there again if we went back...
I'm trying to think what restaurants we went to...Bowen's 22, The Mooring...Can't remember the others!
We really had a nice time though...we went there for our 1 yr anniversary. Went to see some of the mansions one day, went on a boat ride another...
You'll have a nice time there

Re: Newport, RI
We went there in December for a college visit, stayed at the Hampton Inn in Middletown. Had dinner at the Brick Alley Pub and lunch the next day at Newport Creamery (very similar to Friendly's)
Here is a really helpful planning website

We stayed at this B&B and loved it:

We had a very nice dinner at 22 Bowens one night and The Black Pearl another night.
