Excellent food & Sushi is a big +. Nice ambiance, not really romantic setting IMO. For a more romantic steak house try Paces, Prime or Tellers. Especially if your not into Sushi.

It is SO good. The tables are too close together to be private for a romantic dinner but you can ask for a booth if you want. The food is really, really good, DH and I went there for our first anniversary

Re: Blackstone Steakhouse in Melville.
For sushi and drinks? Great.
For steak? Ehh. To me, it should not even be called a "steakhouse". Their steak, and I have tried it more than once, is vile. DH's came out in a pool of blood the first time (he ordered medium well) and the second time it was like roadkill... no taste, just burnt to a crisp. I had the same exact problem on another visit when I tried to give it a second chance thinking it was a fluke.
I like their sushi - lobster roll is excellent and some of their appetizers are great. But, that being said, you mentioned steak so I have to be honest - their steak is not the best.
For real deal steak I would suggest Ruth's Chris, Prime, or Tellers.
HTH!

FINALLY!
Sushi? Very good. Drinks? Great! Ambiance? Loud and annoying.
The steak? SUB PAR. I have been there quite a few times for business lunches and dinner a couple of times and the steak was NO better than getting a steak special at any restaurant. Bloody, fatty, burnt, small, etc.
If you want a really good steak, you go to Pace's, Bobby Vans, Black and Blue in Huntington.
Apps are really good though.

We love Rothmann's Steakhouse.
The steaks (especially filet mignon) are fabulous. The ambience is nice. We usually ask for a booth.
