First Consultation?
Can you guys please tell me what happens at your 1st visit? Is it just talking between you and the doctor about history and possible tests? Or does he give you an exam also? TIA
I am going to be seeing Dr. Roman at RS of NY in Mineola

During my first consultation it took a total of 3 hours. The Dr. sat down with DH and I and went through our medical history and talked about the reason why we are there. Then she briefly went through the possibility of IUI or IVF. Then there was a pelvic exam with the sonogram to look at my ovaries and the follies on them. Then we talked to the IVF/IUI coordinator who gave us a checklist of things to do - for example, blood work for both Dh and I for disease screening, SA for DH, script for HSG, etc. Lastly, we talked to the finance coordinator to discuss what is covered and not covered under my insurance for IUI and IVF.

Wow 3 hours?? But its a good thing to know that they went over everything with you. I'd rather them explain everything than for them to rush me out the door. Thank you for letting me know

I go to RSoNY in SB. I think all in all it was about 1 hour. We did a history, paperwork and I got BW done. They didn't do a sono until CD3.
