Cooking ahead
How do you store things if you make it ahead? I'd like to start doing this so we have dinner to pop in after work. Do you freeze, not bake, bake, etc?
I want to make baked macaroni and cheese today and probably a wild rice chicken casserole. Do I bake then freeze, bake then refrigerate, not bake? What's the life of these kinds of items?
I've never done this so please forgive if this is silly!

Re: Cooking ahead
I usually freeze if I know I will eat it more than 2 days away from when I prepare it
So if I made the mac and cheese today and wanted it for say tomorrow I would put it in the frig
If I wanted it for next week I would freeze it

Re: Cooking ahead
certain things freeze better than others. cooked pasta of any type (especially baked) freezes well; cooked meat not as well. what you can do is freeze the meat raw, even marinate it first and then pop it into the fridge the night before. Or make sauces and freeze them until your wedding to use. Just personally I'm not a fan of meat or fish that's been cooked and frozen.
