Suggestions for a CrockPot (we need a new one)
Our crock pot must finally be breaking or something. It keeps going to "stay warm" when we're trying to cook something...
Any suggestions?

Re: Suggestions for a CrockPot (we need a new one)
There are a lot of options out there - from no frills to a lot of bells and whistles. So I guess it depends on how often you use it and for what purposes and what you want to spend. I think the $30 ones will get the job done same as the $200 ones, but maybe don't have all the features.
I couldn't find mine online to show you but I have a pretty cheap Crock Pot brand cooker with a 10 hour setting. It isn't programmable. I got it thinking I could use it all day since it has the 10 hour setting, but I find that the food gets overcooked if I do it that long (we are only 2 people so I don't cook HUGE roasts or anything). I usually use it at home on the weekends, so I wouldn't want a more expensive one.
If I was getting a new one, i would get a stainless one to match the rest of my kitchen. I have used it as a serving piece when having a party - I put hot drinks in there and it stays warm all night. You can also use it to serve hot food, so I would buy a nicer looking one now for those purposes.

Get the crock pot brand. A removable liner is a must. Warm setting is great. Programmable is awesome i have heard but more pricey. I'd get at least 4.5 quart one. Oval is better than round for cooking cuts of meat and such. (to fit them in)

crate and barrel has a delonghi one on sale.
though it could be a slow cooker.
I have one that I have yet to use
I really want the All Clad b/c you can brown on the stove top with the insert and then put it right into the cooker. sadly mine is not so fancy.
