I wanted to thank you all for you replies and support. I have been having a really hard time with Kasey's death, and needed to take some time to deal with her loss.
Your responses bring tears to my eyes not only because of the kindness you all have shown me, but because I know that Kasey will not be forgotten. She was so special to me, and was the most amazing companion anyone could ask for, and I love her very much. I just can't believe how much I miss her. I feel like I am missing a part of me.

me too. she's jumping and playing with my bunny over the rainbow bridge right now. there's a website where you can add her name to the rainbow bridge and they do a worldwide candle ceremony every monday. when i had the strength I added his name.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss.
I lost my baby a couple of years ago at home too. I was glad I didn't have to make the decision, but even still, along with that goes the shock of not being prepared. I too had many regrets of how I reacted at the moment. But I know in my heart she knew I was there with her and that is what truly mattered to her.
My heart and prayers are with you. Again, I'm so sorry.

Im so sorry for your loss but I am sure that she knew that you loved her! what a wonderful day you spent together! Im teary eyed, I envy you that you got to say goodbye and spend the last day of her life doing nice things together. I recently lost my dog, Casper and didnt have that opportunity. We had to make the deciision and I couldnt be there. It is so hard. I wish I had closure. You gave her a great life!

This has literally got me sobbing in front of my computer screen. She was a lucky girl to have you & your DH in her final hours. I'm so sorry for your loss. They truly are family members. It sounds like she had a wonderful life surrounded by people who treated her like a queen. Just as she should be treated. I know that angel is grateful she was with you & DH during her last night. So so sorry.

what a lucky dog! she had an amazing family and she knows how much u love her. u left the room to get help and thats ok. u made it easier for her to pass by stepping out for a sec. she had a wonderful last night with u guys and was soso comfortable. i know how you feel, i seriously believe that my dog is my best friend. he is the only one by my side thru thick and thin. and the 1st year and 1/2 of my sons life was pretty rough for us and my dog was my savior, licking my tears and just being there for us.
what you wrote about your dog was beautiful, i literally am hysterical b/c i understand. just remember all the Amazing memories and maybe get a painting made of him or something so special to hang in your house to always have him by your side.... dogs are the best and one day you'll meet again... but in the meantime when u r ready, get another one... same breed since u seem to love the one u had, it will never replace kasey but they are fun to have aound...
