working out after you have 2 kids?

I currently have one ds and have consitently been able to work out since he was born. I was able to lose all the baby weight plus an additional 12lbs pretty easily. I am now 18 weeks preggo w/ #2 and am wondering if I will still have the time....it is not easy to find the time now but I make it a priority .....again not easy but I do it. I imagine it will be more challenging to find the time once I have two...any thoughts???

while you are busier, you are more at ease with the second, since you know what you are doing.

After #1, I lost the weight bfing, but I didn't really get back into exercise (I was pregnant when DS#1 was 14 months). After #2, I fully embraced my running again. 2 weeks post c/s I was pushing the big bulky double tandem stroller 2 miles a day. 5weeks post c/s I was running 2 miles on my own (DH or my mom would watch them)...12 weeks after I ran a 10K...6 months I invested in an awesome jogging stroller and they LOVED it!...10 months a half marathon...2 years later I won $100 at a 5K and was training for marathons.

I just didn't have the motivation after #1 (although I did run the 10K and half marathon after #1 as well, it was not good at all!), yet I ran until 28 weeks with #1 and didn't at all with #2 (m/s) If you want to do it, you will find a way, but it doesn't have to happen over night KWIM?

If your serious about getting fit you will

do whatever it takes. Its harder but not

impossible.

For me, going to the gym (5am) before

my kids get up is the most convenient

for me. I work full time and when I get

home I dont have to worry about a

work-out, I can spend time w/the kids.

Night time work outs are not good..

too tired...Chat Icon

It is challenging....but do-able. And mine are 15 months apart! I ended up buying a treadmill since I'm a runner, just so I can at least sneak in a run and not have to leave the house and be unaccessible. Basically I told DH I need 3 mornings a week where I can work out and he needs to be "on-call" should the kids wake up. Then I just sneak in workouts whenever I can, at night, during the day (on the weekend) or whenever. It's not easy, but if I don't get a workout in, I'm very cranky!!! You figure it out, and their schedules change, so you just adapt. You'll be fine.

I have started going to hot yoga class. DH agrees to spend this time with DS. This is "their" time together, and DH also knows I am doing something positive for myself.

A cool thing, is there is an 8PM class as well M-Thurs so DS is in bed then too :).
