Boots for dogs
Does anyone use them this time of year?
I normally take my dog out for a nice long walk, but with this weather we haven't been out much.
I'm worried about his paws. Is this something I should look into or are their paws OK in the cold?

I use them for my dog, our past dog Buddy had sensitive paws so we got ruff wear booties for him. He loved to be outdoors and loved the snow. The salt would irritate his paws so thats why we used them.
Our current dog Casey is sensitive to the salt that is on the floor and she wears booties.

Brinkley freaked out when I tried to put them on. 
Now, we just use Mushers Secret to protect his pads and wipe their feet with towels when they come in from outside.

I never heard of that stuff, I just looked it up and I'm going to get some... How often do you have to apply it?

It depends on their exposure and how they deal with it, really. We walk both of them every day, so they get a lot of exposure. I don't actually have a schedule but I check them every other day or so and put some on if they are cracking around the edges.
As a preventative, I know people who apply it once a week and it's enough.
