Re: What is Zumba
My MIL is trying to convince me to go. Her and my SILs go on Thursday nights. She told me that if you just move your arms and legs around and go back and forth you get the feel of the work-out and are doing well.
I think she's pulling my leg though.

Re: What is Zumba
It's very repetitive - you need basic coordination but certainly not a total dancer.
I get all types in my class - and everyone is able to do it.
You need to be comfortable moving though. There is shaking and shimmying, moving your hips, etc - don;t be afraid to move!

Where do you teach? There is a Zumba at my NYSC this Saturday and I wanted to try it. It would be funny if you were the teacher!

I went to the NYSC in Forest Hills -- my teachers was sort of off count, it was annoying (I was a ballet dancer for many years, so while I wasn't fabulous at this, in my head I am always keeping a beat and she was definitely not on it about 25% of the time) but I then heard she was a sub so I will definitely be going back! My legs are even sore today! I never get that from the elliptical!
