Ectopic Pregnancy
Has anyone had an ectopic, specifically in the fallopian tube? I am being closely monitored by an RE and am told that my pregnancy is ectopic. If you wouldn't mind sharing your experiences (good and bad), I think it would help me get through this. TIA

Re: Ectopic Pregnancy
yes I had one, my tube ruptured though so it was different. They will most likely give you a shot of methatrexate to terminate the pregnancy. I am so sorry for you. They will repeat blood work till your beta is less than 5..It really sucks but be happy they caught it before your tube ruptured....

Re: Ectopic Pregnancy
Last year, my 2nd IUI w. Clomid resulted in an ectopic pregancy.
SORRY IF TMI:
We got our positive pregnancy test (hpt & blood). One day I passed a clot and I was hemorrhaging pretty badly. At first, we thought I miscarried but through blood test (beta was rising) and a radiologist sono, we saw the pregnancy in my right tube.
The Dr performed laparoscopic surgery the next morning and they unfortunately had to take my right tube. I didn't experience any pain with the pregnancy - just bleeding.
We tried two more IUI's (failed) and a fresh IVF cycle (failed). I recently just had a FET.
Stay strong and know that everything is going to be ok. Hopefully, the Dr caught it early enough where there is no tubal damage. Take care of yourself and please keep us posted.

Re: Ectopic Pregnancy
Hi
I had an ectopic pregnancy in my right tube last September. Since I had had an IUI I was being monitored very closely anyway and it was caught very early. I had the methotrexate shot to clear out the pregnancy. After the shot my beta wasn't dropping as fast as they had hoped so they were going to give me another methotrexate shot. I went in for bloodwork right before the shot and my numbers had dropped significantly, so I didn't need the second shot. I had heavy bleeding for a few days but overall the physical part wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. I'm assuming this is because it was caught very early. I did, however, have a very hard time with the emotional part of it. It took me a while to get over the loss. My doctor wanted me to wait 2 cycles before trying again. At the time I questioned it, but I'm happy I waited. I needed time to deal with the loss. I was able to try another IUI in December. I did get pregnant, but unfortunately it resulted in an early miscarriage. I go in for my 4th IUI tomorrow - fingers crossed!
If you have any other questions, let me know.
