It's official, I'm addicted
To Zumba.
Today was my second class. The first was on Thursday night, at my gym. It was a good workout. This morning I went to a place in East Northport that my friend has been raving about forever....she loves the instructor. OMG - it was an amazing amazing workout.
Can't wait for next week!

i hated my first zumba experience. I feel like it was a wasted hour I could have spent on the treadmill!

Bet U can Dance? I have been there! They have fun classes - I love the energy. It is very easy to get hooked if you have a good instructor

Yes, I believe the instructor is Joanne. My friend teaches with her (in a school, not Zumba  )

Although I love to dance my gym offers Zumba and I don't think I will be taking it. It just reminds me of some type of workout Richard Simmons would do! I don't think anything makes me feel as good and works as good as my hour or running! JMO

For those that don't think they will like it, they need to try different instructors if their gym offers it at different times with other instructors.
The gym I go to has 5 zumba instructors and there are only 2 that I like. For the one's I don't like, either they slow down the music to much and I feel like it is more low impact for me, I am bored with the steps and I don't break out into a sweat and they just aren't fun.
One of the girls in the class a few weeks ago was wearing a heart monitor but it also was counting her calories and she burned somewhere between 750-800 calories in 55 minutes. It didn't even seem that she was really pushing herself. I know for me, their is no way I would burn that on the treadmill or elliptical.

Thanks for the info!! Don't think I can make it this Sunday but probably could next Sunday.
ETA: I just looked at the class schedule and I'm really excited that there are so many times that I could make!
