Has anyne had an HSG?
Where they x-ray the uterus? I was just wondering if it was painful, or if it is similar to a pap?

I had one and it really wasn't bad. I had some slight cramping and only one moment where I felt pain. I think the anticipation was worse that the procedure. GL!

It was uncomfortable for me and I had some cramps afterwards, but not awful. Though, for some people it was really painful, so I guess it just depends.

Its different than a pap, but no different than a bad period cramp...its a pretty fast test, mostly prepping, once they start its about 3 minutes...

Its much different than a pap - they go into the cervix and inject dye to see if your tubes are open. Each persons experience is different - the 1st time I had mine it was quite painful b/c my tubes were blocked. I'd plan to take the rest of the day off and have someone with you just in case.
However I had to have another one and the next time it was not as bad.
