way to dig the knife a little deeper.....
so, we went to a 30th birthday party this weekend, at a bowling alley. Our one friend brought her 1 month old DD, and another friend brought her 3 month old DD. I held both babies for a little while- SO cute!! and while i was holding them, no less than 4 people at the party told me how I was "a natural". the mom of the 3 month old said " wow! you look like you know what you're doing! I don't even know how to hold her sometimes!" the mom of the 1 month old said "its so nice that I have somebody to hold the baby who knows what they're doing".... all nice compliments, but just made it so much worse knowing that I'm such a "natural", but yet can't have my own baby (I've known since i was little that I don't have ovaries and won't ever have a biological baby)

I'm so sorry I dont know if you've considered adoption but it is truly a BEAUIFUL thing.....because its LOVE that makes a family...not genetics.

Thanks! We actually have considered adoption! we're actually planning to start the process soon. But, we're going to adopt from China so the child will be older ( a year, or a little over a year) when they come home... so we'll never have a tiny newborn. ( we could if we adopted domestically, but we don't want to go that route for different reasons). I guess I just have to hope that I'm a "natural" with older kids, too and not just babies thanks again for the hugs

Being a "natural" mother is not about pregnancy...it is about your ability to be a mom. And honestly, you can have your OWN baby. My son is 110% my own child..even though he is adopted from Ethiopia. I can promise you that. I think it is great that you have such a natural way with children..lots of people might be able to get pregnant easily but they are not all good moms. It takes so much more than ovaries to be a good mom

I cant imagine what your going through but im sure you will be an amazing mother. The term mother does not only describe the act of giving birth, it describes the love and guidance you will give to your child. Dont be down, you will be an amazing mommy.
