I'm a curious person - I just HAVE to know. I would love to be surprised but I don't have it in me.

DH and I are considering not finding out. That is the FIRST question EVERYONE asks though - "do you know the sex yet?" Then when we say we may not find out, they look at us like we are Aliens from the planet Psycho. "WHAT? WHY WOULDN'T YOU? WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY?" Probably just because THEY are the ones that want to know! But that just makes me more determined not to find out.

Re: How many of you are finding out the sex?

I didnt find out with my first 2 pregnancies and Im glad I didnt. I loved finding out at the moment of birth. I was very tempted at times though. With this pregnancy we found out. Even though I was the one who wanted to find out, I was a little sad I did. At first anyway. But in end, its really turned out to be the best thing. My kids are both small and its helped us be able to prepare them for their coming sibling when we discuss him. My 3 1/2 year old gets it, more or less. But even my 2 year old is kind of understand - in that 2 year old way. She calls him by his name all the time when we discuss the baby. If I was having my first though, I'd wait and be surprised. Its so much fun to find out right then in there. It was definitely one of the most exciting moments of my life when I got to see what gender my son was and it differed from finding out from the OB on the phone or at a visit. JMO.

I couldn't agree more! We didn't find out with my daughter and everyone (including me) was SHOCKED that is was a girl. It was the best surprise of my life. This time around, we found out that we are having a boy and although it was still a surprise, like a lot of you have mentioned, it was definitely anti-climactic in comparison. If you have the patience to wait, this is what I'd do especially with #1. If we have a third we won't find out.

We found out through ultrasound (they say it's a Chat Icon), but now I find myself wondering if they could be wrong. Don't misunderstand me...we'll be just as happy with a little Chat Icon but I purchased a lot of custom/non-returnable "girly" items. Chat Icon
