I live in Lake Grove currently. While I don't love the location of my house (just south of 347) I do really like the town.
I especially like that it is an incorporated village. There are little perks- such as better plowing than other areas of brookhaven, the village supplies leaf bags in the fall and spring, they are also being stricter with building codes and forcing new businesses to build more visually appealing buildings. There are also lots of parks/playgrounds around the neighborhoods, which is nice if you have kids. And taxes tend to be pretty low. Mine are less than $5000.
Traffic can be a pain on 347, especially around xmas, but you can get to the LIE using Nicolls, Stony Brook Rd/Hawkins Ave, or 347 to rt 111. Depends on where in Lake Grove you are coming from.
if I recall correctly, not all of Lake Grove is in the incorporated village. (I grew up in LG.) Unless they've changed it.

i live in LG and I love it, we couldn't be happier here. I am not in the incorporated village so my taxes are lower but I still get to enjoy things like the parks in the neighborhood just the same. Also, I love that there is shopping close by and that you can just hop on Hawkins and be on the LIE in a few min.
But you have to be happy and location is everything since you can't change that about the house you choose. GL in your decision

Location is to importnat to me. Kings Park is my choice and I am hoping to find something we will love. thanks for all your help ladies.
