Re: Did anyone take CLOMID if you ovulate but you are very irregular???
As it was explained to me... clomid helps stimulate egg production and only increases your chance of multiples by about 5% (depending on your dosage and how you interact with it of course) No, they cannot predict how many eggs you will make.
Most dr's will start you off on a low dosage to see how you respond. I've been on 50 mg's for a few months and i usually produce 3-4 eggs, however only 1 or 2 actually mature to a good size by the time i ovulate.
if you're being monitored by an RE, then they'll watch you closely to see how many eggs you produce and adjust treatment accordingly.

Re: Did anyone take CLOMID if you ovulate but you are very irregular???
That was how I was....I was ovulating, but inconsistently. I only took Clomid for one cycle, then took Femara for two. Femara actually has a lower incidence of multiples....of course I am pg with twins, so who knows! Though, my RE said there are only two sets of Femara twins in the whole practice...and my OB said the same thing.
If you are being monitored, they can usually tell how many follies are mature enough, so you can have an idea.
I don't think it is very common for more that twins with these meds, so I wouldn't stress too much. You can look it up online (that is what I did before I took either one) and they will give you the percentages for multiples.
Good luck!!!!

Re: Did anyone take CLOMID if you ovulate but you are very irregular???
My RE told me that 93% of the time it is 1 baby. And out of the 7% that are multiples, 85% are twins. Did you follow that? lol
But like a pp said, even if 3 or 4 eggs start to mature, usually only one will completely mature enough.

Re: Did anyone take CLOMID if you ovulate but you are very irregular???
I seem to be ovulating every month around CD20 or so, but my LP is only 9-10 days max. My dr. wants to start me on 25 mg (very low) of Clomid to help enhance/strengthen my follicles/egg, so during LP, the corpus luteum should naturally produce more progesterone (my progesterone starts off great and then plummets after 7dpo). My boss had twins on 100mg of clomid and IUI, and was also told the risk of multiples was slim, but I would think that on such a low dose, the risk is even smaller.
