Need color inspiration
Our room is painted Adagio, and our furniture is espresso. Right now our pillows and duvet cover are white (damask stripe) which I love.
We need to put up curtains. I want to put in white cellular shades and floor-length panels on each window, which DH agrees with as long as the panels double as blackout shades (fine with me).
Because of where our room is, and the size of the windows, the paint color definitely looks more grey than blue. I was originally going to put up white or silver/grey curtains, but now I'm thinking I want to do a color, that will become the accent color in the bedroom (with an area rug in front of the bed as well as throw pillows.
What color do you think would go best? I am open to ANY suggestions!

I like the red posted above.
A lime green or orange pop of color may look nice. Have you checked out West Elm?

I don't know if I'd necessarily do the pop of color on the curtains. I'm chicken though.
I would do the curtains in a similar shade to the wall color, a plain white or a cocoa brown, and then add accessories. Frames, pillows, vases, etc.
Or what about plaid panels?
eta: My friend has these from JCP - her blue wall is a bit more blue than gray though...

eta: Here's a plaid - they come in diff colors.

We have the same... BM adagio on the walls, white bedding and espresso furniture. We have white curtain panels on our window but if you want something different what about tan/taupe linen panels? And then some accent pillows with that color in them.
Or maybe a patterned curtain with blue/gray, white and taupe in them. Oh what i would give for those benches at the end of the bed!

How about a dark steel gray or charcoal?

Jen I am so glad you said red because that's the color I was thinking but I didn't know if that was too "out there."
DH loves the suggestion and pics as well!
Heather I have no house pics yet but I will try and take some this weekend.

I just wouldn't over do the red. Maybe try to find a red curtain with another color in it. Maybe a striped curtain. Or just get dark gray curtains, but add red just as an accent color in the room.....pillows, a throw on the bed, a vase or two in the room. GL!
