IVF

When did you know it was time to move on to IVF? Was the decision hard? I am afraid of taking all the meds and balancing having a 2 and a half year old.

Update: To answer questions,
I have not tried anything other than the Clomid. When we went to speak with Dr. Kennisberg he told me that we should move on to IVF that was before the Clomid. I requested that I try something else before IVF and thats when he said we can try Clomid.
I am just feeling so angry and hurt that I have not gotten pregnant yet. I really don't know how all you women keep on going. It just feels like a roller coaster of emotions.

Thanks for listening to me vent

Re: IVF

Have you tried IUI with injectible meds. I saw your other post that you have done 5 IUI's. But, seems like you just started with clomid. Were the others without meds???? You seem like you respond well to the meds. I would either try another round of clomid or switch to injectibles (like gonal-f) before heading to IVF. Especially if you have insurance coverage.

Though, you will know when you are ready for IVF...you will just want to get moving faster.

The meds aren't that scary. Believe me I think I have taken more than most ppl on this board at this point.

Re: IVF

After 5 IUIs with that amount of eggs I would go to IVF. JMO.

You will know as Beth-Ann says. You will just want to get it done quickly and move on with your life.

The meds are not that bad. I thought it would be worse but the injections become easier to administer as you do them and once you do it it's not so scary.

I had very few issues with the whole thing.

Re: IVF

The whole process was no shocker to me... I knew from the beginning (at like 16 years old) if I wanteds to get PG it would most likely have to be through IVF... so the decision was easy... the process however is not... Waking up at 5 in the morning to get into the office to get blood and sono so you make it in on time for work is the hardest but it is doable... whatever you decision is, I hope you get your BFP soon!!!!

Re: IVF

I tried clomid 3x and 1 IUI. My next visit with the doctor was so emotional, I broke down. I was hysterical, I couldn't even talk. That was when she recommended going straight to IVF. It wasn't a hard decision for me personally. The hardest part for me was going to all the bloodwork appointments. You spend so much time there. I was very lucky to have my family support me, I wasn't the happiest person around but in the end it was the right decision for me.
