Is Alexandra the only 4+ month old...
...whose Pediatrician said not to start fruits/veg until 6 months???
I was so excited to start adding a little variety to her diet this month. I know every Dr. is different, but come on!
Geez, I think I was on jarred meat at this point when I was a baby!

My son is 4 months and he is only on breastmilk. My doc said he shouldn't start cereal until 6 months b/c of the potential for allergies.

My ped told us not to start anything until Nicholas was 6 months old. He turned 6 months last week and he started on fruits and vegetables. He never had cereal. He was more than ready.

our ped said the same thing-but I didn't listen
he has had oatmeal,carrots,squash and sweet potatoe...he was just way too hungry and not satified with the formula..

I guess every ped is different... my doc wanted him on cereal at 4 months and fruit/veg at 5. Too bad he cant even be on cereal yet... The doc wants me to try again, but i dare not yet!!

Mine said not until 4 months for cereal but I started him at 3 months. He was SO ready for it. Then I started fruits @ 4 months and veggies @ 5 months. Meats @ 6.5 months but he's not tolerating that too well...

Our Ped told us that if we wanted to, we could start DD after 4 months, but their "suggestion" was to wait until 6 months.

Ped told us to start cereal at 4 mos. At his 5 month visit he said wwe could start fruits. We go to his 6 month visit next week so I assume he will tell us to start veggies then.

My Ped. told us to start fruits and veggies at 5 months and cereal at 4 but I started cereal at 3 months cuz she was drinking too much formula but I did wait till 5 months for the fruits and veggies

My ped said we could start cereal at 4 months. I didn't start until 5 months. i wasn't in a rush since most of the nutrition comes from formula and BM anyway. It is more to get them ready for solid foods when they are older. i started veggies at 6 months.

I go to a group practice and last month the dr told us to start the rice cereal and that this month we'd start fruits. This month we saw a different doctor and she told us to try oatmeal now and wait till next month to start fruit. As we all now, if you ask 5 people a question, you can get 10 diferent answers.

DS was given the okay at his 4th month well baby check by my PED to start food. First we started with cereal, then introduced veggies for the 5th month and now are working on some fruits too.
Go with your gut, if you feel your baby can handle starting solids, just DO IT!

Aly is 18 weeks tomorrow (4 months & 1 week) and we started cereal on a regular basis last week (we tried a few weeks ago) and we've done 4 days of rice, 4 days of oatmeal and today got the clear for veggies and fruits.
She had sweet potatoes for dinner and ate the whole container!
