Help! Need Suggestions for My Son's Second Birthday!
We are having a small family party at home-about 20 people, 9 of them 16 and under. I am going to make penne a la vodka and I would like to make a chicken dish as well. We are really trying to keep costs down and do it ourselves. Any suggestions? Any recipes you can share? Something that can be done ahead of time? I can follow a recipe but I am not an inventive cook!

Everyone loves chicken parm and you can definitely fry the chicken before hand then do the cheese & sauce the day of.

What about lemon chicken? There is a recipe from the boards that is excellent.
You can always do sausage and meatballs also. Maybe sausage and peppers is easy and pretty cheap to make.

We do Chicken Piccata, Chicken Marsala, or Chicken Francaise for our parties usually. I usually cook the chicken the day before, make the sauce separately and heat it up and put it on the warmed chicken before serving.
