Fast Eater

Does anyone have any ideas how I can slow LuLu down when she eats her meals. She finished them in about 4 minutes flat. I think I am feeding her enough food but it just seems like she is starving. Any help would be appreciated! TIA

Re: Fast Eater

They make special bowls with dividers in them designed to slow them down.

Re: Fast Eater

I've heard that if you put a tennis ball or other small-ish ball in their bowl it will slow them down because they kind of have to eat around it, KWIM?

Re: Fast Eater

Four minutes doesn't sound like a problem to me, is she getting sick after? We put Brinkley's Kong in his bowl to make him eat slower and he's still done in less than 2 minutes. But we don't have issues.

If you're worried about bloat, you should soak dry food for five minutes before feeding.

I have a yellow lab that eats way too fast, and gets sick after. We feed him half of it and an hour later or so feed him the other half. I also have been giving him ice cubes to curb him from drinking water so fast. He hasn't gotten sick in a week...so we will see :)

My pugs eat extremely fast. I feed them as soon as I get home from work and I can't even get off my shoes yet and they are already finished. It's crazy.

Re: Fast Eater

My dog does the same thing, but she doesn't get sick. The vet said not to worry about it unless she throws up afterwards
