Awwww......isn't this sad?
We bought our house from an older couple in July. They lived in the house for 42 years and the wife made the husband move to a condo bc she couldn't keep up w/ the house any more. They moved a few miles away.
The husband still drives past the house every day. He alwas stops and stares at the house for a minute or two. He was devastated that he had to move.
I feel so bad for him.
(Maybe that's just the preggo hormones going crazy!)

Re: Awwww......isn't this sad?
That is sad. I don't know if he would appreciate seeing any changes to the house though, that might upset him more if the pain is still new.
I used to drive-by's of the house I grew up in after it was sold. It was actually worse because I saw all the changes they made and it's nothing like it looked before. We had a huge gorgeous maple tree in the front yard and the first thing they did was chop it down, along with the other trees on the property.
The previous owners of my house live 2 blocks away. I can see the stop sign in front of my house from my computer desk so sometimes I see them stop at the corner and sit there for a few extra seconds, to check the place out.
It looks WORLDS better than when they had it.

Re: Awwww......isn't this sad?
Aww, that is sad. But it's nice that the house went to someone who appreciates how much the home meant to them.
We bought our house from a man in 50s, who inherited the it from his parents years earlier. It was the house he grew up in and so he was very emotional about leaving it. But he wasn't keeping up with it and the house fell into serious disrepair, so I'd like to think that even though he might miss the house, he appreciates that someone is taking care of it again.
