How can I say this????
My friend lent maternity clothes to our other friends who then said she will give them to me. She told me DO NOT go out and buy clothes that there are plenty of stuff in the bins, wll, I cant hold out any longer because I did buy clothes. But I dont want to spend that much $$$ since it will only be the summer, and I do not plan on getting PG after the twins.
So the friend she lent the clothes to had her baby 3 weeks ago, and how do I say nicely if I can have some of Joanna's clothes for my Florida trip.
Everyone says just ask, but I feel like it is rude sonsidering she just had the baby and will still need some of the clothes.
Am I being rude by asking??

I agree. I would say that Joanna asked me to call you and then ask. I would tell her that you will wash them so she does not have to worry about it.

unless I call Joanna, because they are SIL's and very close. I tried to call Joanna and ask if there were any shorts in the bin you gave Jen, because Im going to Florida nd didnt want to buy shorts. I just feel weird asking.

I think you should go ahead and call her. Just explain that you're going on vacation and Joanna mentioned that there's a bunch of summer stuff in the bin and you wanted to know if you can get your hands on it. I'm sure she would totally underatand and be glad to get rid of them.

I think you should just come out & say "Do you know if she's done using them?" (because you still maybe using some of them - even 3 weeks post partum).
Also I'm driving around medium summer maternity clothes in the back of my car for ages. FM if you want me to go hunt for shorts.
