If you're a fan of Ben's Deli
and are located in Nassau County, I MUST recommend this place to you. It's called Pastrami Plus, and it's in East Meadow on the south side of Hempsatead Tpke. It blows Ben's out of the water. No joke. Their food is so much better.
I've been going there for years (DH used to own a business down the block) and for some reason I decided to go to Ben's for soup the other night instead of PP. What a mistake! The soup tasted like water and they charge so much extra for pretty much everything (um, $1.99 per matzoh ball?)
I went back to PP for lunch today for pierogis and matzoh ball soup and OMG yummmmm  This sick chick is feeling better already!

Ben's is a total rip off to me lately. They aren't as good as they use to be & the prices -  not worth it for the quality of food you get.

Wish it was closer!!  I go to the one in Woodbury and I think it's SO overpriced! And I'm not even that impressed with their food!

I tried it, it was just okay in my opinion. The matzoh ball soup was good,the1/2 sandwich I had was on the dry side( I did not order it this way- it was corned beef) and bland. I did have a sample of the pastrami, it was good. They had a plate on the counter of appetizers for sale I was not sure if it was just the display, but it was moldy- I told them and they threw it out. I might try it one more time- maybe it was not a good day for them.

i've tried them, thought they were ok. my two favorite kosher deli's in nassau
are Bellcrest on merrick rd. in bellmore
and Boomy's on south oyster bay rd in syosset (might be plainview) its in the shopping center with trader joes.
my old favorite was in suffolk county, and used to be a Ben's, but was owned by someone else in the family... is now called Zan's. don't know if they are as good as they used to be, but i loved their sundar brunch special.
