bumpers

My 7 month old is very active while he sleeps. When he turns he tends to grab onto the top of the bumpers and pull. I was thinking of taking them out, but I am afraid he might bump his head on the crib bars.

Any thoughts???

Re: bumpers

I read that you are supposed to take them out when the baby can stand- because they use them to to stand on and it's enough to boost them out of the crib.

Re: bumpers

I never had bumpers in. Personally I think they aren't necessary, just pretty.

He can't bump his head hard enough that it will matter, but eventually he will be able to climb and thats real trouble!

Re: bumpers

I definately think that the breathable bumpers from onestepahead.com are a good idea once the kiddos start getting more active. Luckily we haven't had to go that route just yet.

My daughter does the same thing. My DH wants to take the bumpers out, but I lean toward keeping them in for your reasons, plus I think she likes putting her face on them. I will take them out when she is able to stand on them.

Re: bumpers

i won't be using them at all due to the possible suffocation hazard. if necessary i will use the breathable bumpers.
