Am I stupid?..child and Vegas related
DH has a conference in Vegas and I am tagging along...
My parents have always wanted to go and we happen to be going on my dad's bday..so we told him we are going to pay for them to come with us as a gift...They were also our babysitters so this means DD will be going to Vegas with us..
Is this a very bad idea?..Were just going to be walking around during the day and going to dinner at night..DH and I will be leaving DD in my parents room so we can go out...
Will everyone look at us weird for bring a 17 month old to Vegas? was this a stupid move?

We went to Vegas without the baby a few months ago. During the day, you will see a lot of strollers around. I missed DS dearly and kept wishing that we had brought him with us.
Of course if you go out at night you won't be seeing any babies but during the day, there are tons of them. Just try sticking to the more child friendly places when you take DD around like Excalibur, NYNY, Aladdin, etc.
DH has a conference in Vegas next month and I'm going back and forth about tagging along with DS.

In July I was shocked at the amount of babies there were. I mean young babies maybe 2 months at the most out at 11 pm with on the strip. it felt very wierd, but it seemed very common the whole week we were there.

You'll see babies there for sure. IMO I wouldn't bring a baby to Vegas but that's just me.

Vegas has become more family friendly than ever before.
I definitely saw plenty of babies and toddlers out and about when we were there. Myself personally, I don't know how I'd feel taking a baby, since the walking during the day in the heat took a lot out of ME, I can't imagine how it must be on a child.
But that's just how I would be, obviously you and DH should do what works for you!

We went in September and there were so many children/babies/strollers out that we were really a little surprised and caught off guard! Wish we would have brought DS at that point too  You will have a FANTASTIC time and being your parents will be there to watch your DD - DO IT AND ENJOY!!!!!!!!

My sis lives in Vegas (suburbs) and when we go to the strip I always see babies there...not sure when you are going but make sure you check the weather. if you go winter its like 50/60 during the day and 35 at night (very cold)...summer is unbearable, soooo hot!!

When we were in vegas last April we were surprised by how many babies were there!
During the day--walking around etc. I don't see a problem.
We we at our friends hotel--which had pool parties that involved drinking and shenanigans--babies were there and that to me was kinda odd.
I would just try to stay in a hotel with a pool that was more "kid friendly" we stayed at the Paris--and having kids there was totally appropriate

We are planning a trip to Vegas in November, DS will be 11 months old. I think we'll have a blast. We plan to bring IL so we have help watching him. Whoever is watching him can walk around the stores, walk through the casinos, go outside on the Strip. There is plenty to do that doesn't involve gambling.
