Share your diet secrets here! (I'll start)
You know how when you just had a delicious plate of food, and are still hungry right at the last bite?
Your body needs time to realize it has been fed. This process takes some time.
"They" (who are "they" anyway?) say to wait a half hour, drink a bottle of water, and if you are still hungry, have a bit more.
Continue this process until you feel full and satisfied.

Dehydration is often mistaken for hunger so if I feel hungry and know that I shouldn't be hungry yet then I have a bottle of water & see where that takes me.

My secret which really isnt a secret is to try to cook your meals at home, instead of eating out at restaurants. This way you know what you are putting in your body.

Def, I find this is easier done if you use the crock pot, that way youre not scrambling last minute.

Use ramekins for snacks like chips/ice cream and I'll use a mini espresso spoon for it, too.

Re: Share your diet secrets here! (I'll start)
My secret is when I want a snack and I've already eaten my dinner and I know I'm probably not really hungry just bored I either drink green tea or go to sleep. Sometimes this means I'm in bed by 8:30 but whatever.

The BEST thing I've done is filled my freezer with low point, preportioned meals. I just defrost it quickly, and instead of grabbing something unhealthy I have my food. Chili, shredded chicken and beans, etc.
Also, MAKE SURE you get your oil, vegetable, fruits, and water in. I thought I was being smart by cutting out cooking with oil-I GAINED weight from it. Only when I added it back to my diet did I start losing again.

Drink lots of water throughout the day. I also drink a ton right before bed bc I feel it helps me digest and flush my system out. I also drink a lot of green tea.
Eat breakfast - very important
Eat dinner by 6pm (so impossible) but really helps to lose weight
Take walks for about 30 min during your lunch break (even if you plan on going to the gym later).
Bring your lunch to work and eat dinner at home (this is hard)

I agree totally with Jenna.
I'm a night snacker so, I take smaller portions at dinner so I can have a small snack later that evening.
Since I have had to cut back on my workouts (Knee issue) I cut that snack out and substitute it for a cup of tea and that satisfies my tummy.

Re: Share your diet secrets here! (I'll start)
My newest thing that has been working for me is making myself a cup of flavored decaf tea immediately after dinner so I don't go overboard with dessert. If I still feel hungry after I have a dessert, I either suck on a peppermint candy or brush my teeth. For whatever reason, the minty-ness makes the need to eat go away.

Re: Share your diet secrets here! (I'll start)
To curb after dinner snacking, I floss, mouthwash, tongue-scrape and brush (takes forever) after dinner and any small dessert I may have. Then if I want to snack, I have to go thru my whole tooth-brushing routine again. Most of the time, I decide not to snack so I don't have to brush again. If I decide to snack, it means I must be truely hungry and that is ok.

Re: Share your diet secrets here! (I'll start)
In the winter, I have a cup of hot chocolate after dinner every night. I get the low cal kind, I think it's like 60 calories. It totally fills me up and takes care of any cravings I have. Most importantly, it keeps me from snacking!
