Getting a lot of fiber in your diet...

Like a lot of people,I'm sure Chat Icon , I am trying to clean up my diet after overindulging over the holidays...

I know fiber fills you up so I am trying to add fiber to my diet.

What are some ways YOU add fiber to your diet? Chat Icon

I am going to try to fill up on veggies, fruits, lean proteins (fish,chicken).

I also am trying Cinnamon metamucil wafers....

Vtatops have a lot of fiber. I eat Luna bars sometimes. I also eat beans or lentils almost every day.

I eat fiber one (the original one-looks like little sticks) every morning....I think it has over 50% of your daily fiber.

Fiber one bars are really great and filled w/fiber. However, you may experience a tremendous amount of gas. Your body eventually gets used to it but don't be alarmed if you find you're filled w/gas.

Fiber one 90 Calorie bars -
2 grams fat
Dietary Fiber - 5 Gram
1 Weight Watcher Point

Fiber One Baking Muffins
160 Calories
2.5 grams fat
5 dietary fiber
3 weight watcher point (one muffin)

(you can make them by replacing the oil with applesauce and the eggs with egg whites or fat-free egg)

Vitatops are sold in the freezer/organic frozen/healthy frozen area of your supermarket. I get mine at Stop N Shop. They are muffin tops instead of a whole muffin. They are tasty but can be expensive if they aren't on sale. Most people find that the top of a muffin is the best so it's based on that concept. They have blueberry, banana nut, chocolate, etc.

Oatmeal now makes high fiber instant which is great and I think it has 8-10 grams. I also buy these square whole wheat wraps that are high in fiber - like 8 grams or so.

And fiber 1 bars are always good or even fiber 1 yogurt!

I try to eat veggies twice a day bc I think they are high in fiber too!

You can also purchase a mix (a lot less expensive) and make them either as regular muffins or buy the special pan and make the tops. I usually make the muffins and buy the mix at a diet store in Ronkonkoma. They used to carry it at Stop and Shop, but I haven't found it there in a while. It is about $6 for a box that makes 12.

Before I was pregnant, I used to eat frosted mini wheats every morning for fiber (or another higher fiber cereal), ate the 12 grain Arnold bread, an apple, and I ate 3 of those Fiber One tablets/day (6 grams of fiber). I always got my 25 grams or more.

I also just bought fiber choice chews...they are only 4 grams but supposed to help you stay healthy on the inside!
