The color I wanted...and the color I ended up with. HELP!
Anyone a pro at this stuff?
I feel like my shade is too dark...maybe I need highlights or something? Or will it just fade over time? not sure if I should ask my stylist to fix it. Any tips? Thanks!

Was your goal red? Yes, it will fade. Red fades very quickly. I love coloring my hair red, but stopped because it does fade very quickly, which was very disappointing. Once it does fade, I bet you'll want that red back.

you probably have a point. I just feel like it's such a DEEP brownish-red, rather than a reddish-brown. Is it even close to the pic or no? Maybe I just chose the wrong picture...I thought that's what I wanted but now I'm not so sure.
ETA: it looks so much darker in person, it's kinda freaky...hard to really see the red as much unless it's in a really bright room. I guess I should just let myself get used to it! I normally have blond highlights!

red takes to hair rather well usually. I would consider some highlights but wait a week or two to see how it fades out.

agree, I think some thin blonde-red highlights would give you the color you want
