Diapers
What brand and size is appropriate for a newborn? Where can I get them for a reasonable price? I want to do a diaper cake for a friend as part of her baby shower gift but she didn't register for diapers. Other cakes I have done the moms all registered for the diapers.. I am so confused and overwhelmed with all the choices.

I'd get Pampers Swaddlers in Size One. If you buy newborn size, they may never be used if the baby is big.

I used the "newborn" size in pampers swaddlers, my daughter would never have fit into size 1. And I used newborn size for at least a month and I used a ton of them so I didn't waste any.

My daughter was in newborns as well.
You could always make it out of size 2s -- The baby is definitely going to grow into them. Or, use the cloth ones, and she could use them as burp cloths.

I built a diaper cake for my sister for her shower and I used "Pampers New Born", used the 50 diaper pack. I think it is only like $8-10 bucks. Used every one for a 3 tier cake.

Brendan started wearing size 1 in the hospital. He was 9lbs. 5oz. Although most babies will fit into newborns, if your friend has a big baby she would be out of luck. The baby can always grow into the size 1. JMO  Oh and the Pampers Swaddlers are great!

We use the swaddlers too- Katie needed the nb size for awhile.

Same here. We used newborn size for well over a month maybe even 2 months. I don't remember exactly now.
