Interest rate going up?
We are supposed to close in the coming month and we're noticing the rate keeps increasing. So much for a a save! Is the interest rate going to continue to creep up?

Follow this blog... He'll let you know whats exactly going on... But if you see them on the rise, why not lock ASAP?

Re: Interest rate going up?
Interest rates jumped about a half point in the last 3-4 weeks.

Re: Interest rate going up?
our bank contact told us they are on the rise (nothing we can do until we sell)
Maybe you can lock in with a float down? (we actually got 2 float downs for free - but one was b/c our banker told us the wrong rate - astoria gives (or maybe gave at that time) one float down for free to everyone

Re: Interest rate going up?
yes.. we're going to close in mid-Jan. We locked in the day before they went up @ 4.75% w/ a float down option before Jan. 15th. We were first quoted 4.5%. It's now 5% (I think) If not 5.25%. Either way, it's still a good rate- not like 7-8%. I think it'll still help sales.
