Re: Anyone originate a loan through Lendingtree.com?

Not me, but the guy who bought my co-op did. I was quite friendly with him by the time we closed on the apt, and he told me that his closing costs were $9K. When I bought the co-op and mortgaged directly with chase, my closing costs were $2.5.

I'm not sure if his closing costs were so high because he used them as a broker, but I think you might get a better deal with the banks. My advice in anything to do with a home is to shop around.Chat Icon

I think the closing cost are really high b/c the are even more of a middle man then a broker- they sell the leads to a broker- so there are even more fees invloved

shop around- banks aren't always better then brokers-
